Mr.C came for a visit

My little cousin came for a visit today and we took some photos for his 3 month milestone. He is such a ham and a great poser. You can only get away with this pose usually when they are newborns but I have been having luck with my 3 month olds letting me pose them like this.

what a weekend, I am currently battling a cold that decided to grace its presence this morning. Yesterday, however, I was lucky enough to get to photograph miss Sylvia again at 2 months. I got the opportunity to do her newborn photos when she was born. She was such a doll to deal with and has changed so much! Here is a look at her photo session! ( please not the first is a composite where 3 photos were used to get the final and she was in mom's arms the entire time.)

Safe Baby Posing vs Unsafe

As a photographer, I am always looking to try new things, but it angers me when I come across a photo like this one, this is an unedited behind the scenes photo and the baby is clearly left unattended and not supported or even near an adult. If the baby moves, it can be very dangerous and harm them. Some photographers, simply do not know that many of the newborn images posted online are actually 2+ images merged together. There are safe ways to achieve this image doing composites, where the baby is always safe. I urge everyone who is looking for a newborn or baby photographer, to make sure they practice only baby safe posing. And as always, parents, if you are not comfortable with a pose, speak up and tell the photographer. That is your baby and their safety is number one!
